Dear Editor,

Would you enter a profession that was one of the most stressful jobs in the industry? I don't think you do. The teachers in Chicago are striking against the Mayor and the board of education. On the basis of cuts in salary,Terrbile work conditions,Increaed cost in healthcare and the risk of loosing their jobs. I am on the side of the teachers because I feel they're really important and should be treated fairly. They teach and guide the young minds of peoples' children to become sucessful if not some of the most sucessful people in the world and to be  great in everything they do. Over a eight month period the board promised thet eachers a 16% raise in their salary.            Now the board wants to take away their promise to the teachers. Ever since then the board has been taking away more money and spending for schools. Children aren't getting the quailty education they should be getting. America used to be one of the top ten smartest countries in the world,Now we are 13 in education.            It all starts with states,Bits and pieces of America that soon change the entire country. The teachers have been striking for about a week now. The Mayor has now promised to agree to some of the demands of the Chicago teachers. After a week of "Striking/Protesting" They have shown the mayor, district and board of education that they are determined to their cause. Students are finally going back to school and the board has recongnized Chicago as a city that is full  determined teachers who care about their students and their wellbeing.
